Profit From the New SAT
The new SAT presents several opportunities for maximizing your score. It's my opinion that it is actually easier to score higher on this version of the exam. Let me tell you why.
First, the College Board will no longer penalize test-takers for guessing. Previously, there was a 1/4 point deduction for every incorrect answer. No more. Beginning with the March 2016 exam, the penalty is gone!
Second, the math questions have been rewritten. All math questions will model real world situations. It should be easier to visualize the problems now. I've always liked that the SAT does not require you to memorize math formulas. The new exam will continue this practice.
Future posts will discuss other changes on the new SAT.
I just wanted to take some time to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thanks to all my past and present students and their families. I know 2016 is going to be a great year.
